BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the fourth straight week and fifth time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Chigozie Adigwe has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

Adigwe placed seventh in the finals of the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.31 seconds to earn All-New England honors this past weekend at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Williams College. The Lowell, Massachusetts product, who also finished 17th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.73 seconds, helped the Bears place ninth in the team standings at the championship meet.

Adigwe currently ranks 35th in all of Division III in the 110 hurdles.

The MASCAC Rookie of the Week honor marks the eighth of the 2021-2022 academic year for Adigwe who also earned the accolade three times during the indoor track & field season.

Qualifying members of the BSU outdoor track & field teams will compete at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships held on Friday and Saturday at Bryant University.
