BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Nick Johnson has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Johnson broke his own school record in the weight throw this past weekend at the Plymouth State Panther Invitational. The Marstons Mills, Massachusetts native captured top honors in the event with a toss of 57 feet, 2.75 inches (17.44m). Johnson, who helped the Bears post a second place finish at the meet, eclipsed his previous BSU mark of 55 feet, 11 inches (17.04m) set earlier this season at the Tufts Jumbo Invitational.

Johnson currently ranks 19th in all of Division III in the weight throw and fourth in New England.

The BSU indoor track & field teams are back in action on Saturday (Feb. 15) when they compete at the MASCAC Championships held at Smith College.
