BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week and fifth time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Exondus Barnes has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

Barnes placed second in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 22 feet, 4.5 inches (6.82m) this past weekend at the 2020 MASCAC Indoor Championships. The East Providence, Rhode Island product also finished third in the high jump with a leap of six feet, 2.75 inches (1.90m) as he helped the Bears capture their third straight conference indoor crown.

Barnes currently ranks tenth in New England in the long jump and 13th in the high jump.

The BSU mens' indoor track & field team is back in action on Saturday (Feb. 22) as several members of the squad will compete at the Bowdoin Invitational.
