BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week, Bridgewater State University freshman Exondus Barnes has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

Barnes placed fifth in the long jump with a Division III New England Championship qualifying mark of 22 feet, 0.75 inches (6.72m) at the Joe Donahue Games held this past weekend at the Reggie Lewis Center. The East Providence, Rhode Island native also placed seventh in the high jump with a leap of six feet, 0.75 inches (1.85m).

Barnes currently ranks third in New England in the long jump and seventh in the high jump while nationally he is ranked 22nd in all of Division III in both events.

The BSU track & field teams are off until after the New Year when the Bears compete at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday, January 18th.
