Men's Relay Squads Earn All-NEICAAA Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- A pair of men's relay squads earned All-NEICAAA honors on Saturday at the 2019 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Southern Connecticut State University.

The Bears' 4x100-meter relay team featuring junior Lamont Haynes (Boston, Mass.), sophomore DeAndre Thomas (Montgomery, N.J.) and freshmen Jadin Bruneau (Taunton, Mass.) and Jacob DeAndrade (Taunton, Mass.) placed sixth at the meet with a season-best time of 42.23 seconds.

Haynes also ran a leg on the Bears' 4x400-meter along with classmates Joshua Higgins (Fitchburg, Mass.) and Olivier Ndikumana (Amherst, Mass.) as well as sophomore John Lara (South Boston, Mass.). The foursome recorded a season-best time of 3:17.64 to finish seventh overall.

Junior Nick Johnson (Marstons Mills, Mass.) placed ninth in the discus throw with a toss of 140 feet, five inches (42.79m), while senior Joseph Keough (Walpole, Mass.) finished 29th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:08.60.

In upcoming action, select members of the BSU men's outdoor track & field team will compete on Thursday at the MIT Final Qualifier.
