Goehring, Sukeforth, Wahome Lead Men's Track at NEICAAA Indoor Championships

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's track and field team wrapped up competition in the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Indoor Championships today at Boston University. The two-day event consisted of qualifying New England schools throughout all three divisions.

The men placed 31st with one point scored. The lone point came from Josh Goehring (Haverhill, Mass) who finished eighth in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:05.81.

Andy Sukeforth (Middleboro, Mass) broke his own school record in the mile with a time of 4:12.17, placing 17th in the event. Sukeforth eclipsed his previous record of 4:14.37 set in 2012.

Stephen Wahome (Lowell, Mass) also broke his previous school record in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:43.21, placing 23rd in the event.  Wahome broke his previous school record of 8:43.42 set in 2011.

Stephan Cawley (Dedham, Mass.) placed 11th in the shot put with a toss of 48 feet, four inches (14.73 meters). Brian Espinosa (Rehoboth, Mass.) finished 13th in the long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 11 inches (6.68 meters), while Joshua Danner-Hicks (Haverhill, Mass.) placed 11th in the triple jump with a distance of 45 feet, ten inches (13.97 meters),

Next week the Bears will head to the New Balance Armory in New York City and compete at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championships on Friday and Saturday.
