Men's Track and Field Competes at Snowfake Classic

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men’s outdoor track and field team competed at the Snowflake Classic hosted by Tufts University on Saturday.

Sophomore Joshua Danner-Hicks (Haverhill, Mass.) grabbed top honors in the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, 2.25 inches (13.47 meters).  Junior Cedric Lamour (Brockton, Mass.) finished fourth in the event checking in at 43 feet, 2.75 inches (13.18 meters).

Junior David Phipps (Attleboro, Mass.) was the second runner to cross the finish line in the 10,000-meter run as he posted a Division III New England Championships qualifying time of 32:30.01.

Junior Felix Mensah (Lowell, Mass.) placed fourth in the 100-meter dash as he qualified for DIII New Englands with a time of 11.31 seconds.

Junior Michael McPherson (Mansfield, Mass.) posted a third place showing in the shot put (49’6.0”) and a fourth place finish in the hammer throw (161’0.25”).  Classmate Joshua Wakefield (North Dighton, Mass.) qualified for DIII New Englands and placed sixth in the hammer (152’6.75’’ (46.50 meters), while fellow junior Stephan Cawley (Dedham, Mass.) was eighth in the shot (45’11.50’) and also qualified for DIII New Englands.

Next Saturday, the BSU track and field teams will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
