MEDFORD, Mass. --- Junior Brian
Stewart (Scituate, MA) placed ninth in the 5000 meter run
(17:00.82) as he helped to pace the Bridgewater State men’s
outdoor track and field team’s 10th place finish at the 2008
Tufts Snowflake Classic.
The Bears finished with 6 total team points while Division I
Dartmouth was the meet winner with 223 points. The meet was held
this past Saturday at the Dussalt Track and Field Complex in
Medford, MA.
Sophomore Jesse Walker (New Bedford, MA) posted a
14th place finish in the 200 meter dash (:24.72) while senior
Nilton Gomes (Fall River, MA) placed 10th in the
800 (2:07.24).
In the field, junior Chris Clark (Pittsfield, MA)
threw a fifth place finish shot put (41-11.50) while sophomore
Matt Marden (Wilmington, MA) took home 7th in the
javelin throw (138-01). Jake Rapoza (Berkley, MA)
placed 10th in the javelin (134-06) and 14th in the shot put
(33-07.50) while junior Jason Williams (Bradford,
MA) finished 10th in the hammer throw (130-06).
The Bears will continue their season on Saturday with the Jim
Sheehan Memorial Meet held in Fitchburg, MA. The first gun will
fire at 11 A.M.
