BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore Robby Cooney has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week.

Cooney made his collegiate debut for the Bears last week in a 9-0 win over Thomas College. The Plymouth, Massachusetts product posted a 6-0, 6-2 straight set win at the top singles flight and teamed with Matthew Krampf (Littleton, Mass.) for an 8-0 triumph at second doubles.

The BSU men's tennis team is currently 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the Little East. The Bears entertain Emerson College on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30.
