Men's Tennis Remains Unbeaten with 9-0 Win over Curry

WEYMOUTH, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's tennis team remained unbeaten on the season as the Bears blanked Curry College, 9-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Weymouth Club.

Bridgewater improves to 4-0 as the Bears have opened the season with four consecutive 9-0 victories.  Curry falls to 0-6.

Freshman Wesley Esthimer (Franklin, Mass.) and senior Mike Zagame (Uxbridge, Mass.) teamed for an 8-1 win at first doubles.  Esthimer and Zagame also posted 8-0 decisions at first and second flight singles, respectively.  

Junior Michael Kofman (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) and sophomore Cody Farrell (Scituate, Mass.) earned an 8-2 victory at second doubles, while sophomore Colin Fontaine (Westfield, Mass.) and freshman Jarred Diorio (Kingston, N.H.) came away with an 8-3 triumph at the third flight.  Kofman also defeated his opponent at number four singles, 8-3.

Freshman Sean Bleau (North Dighton, Mass.), sophomore Jesse Gotlib (Dartmouth, Mass.) and junior Nicholas Desisto (Uxbridge, Mass.) added singles win at the third, fifth and sixth flights, respectively.

The Bears travel to Wheaton College on Tuesday afternoon to take on the Lyons at 4:30.
