BRIDGEWATER, MASS. -- The Bridgewater State College Bears dropped a 5-4 decision to Salem State College in Little East Conference (LEC) men's tennis action this afternoon at the Dr. Henry Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts in Bridgewater.

Salem jumped out to a 3-0 lead by winning all three doubles flight.  The Vikings won only two of the six singles matches but that would be all they would need.  Salem improves to 5-3 on the season and remains perfect in conference play with a 4-0 mark.  Bridgewater falls to 7-6 overall and 2-2 in the Little East.

Salem captured all of the three doubles flight by the identical scores of 8-4.  Junior Adrien Malosse (Triel-Sur-Seine, France) and sophomore Rob Random (Newbury, MA) won at first doubles, sophomores Alex Eisath (Renon, Italy) and Josh DaSilva (Methuen, MA) at the second flight, and freshmen Josh Giller (Peabody, MA) and Johan DaSilva (Venezuela) at number three.

Malosse rebounded from a 6-1 first set loss to defeat Bridgewater State senior Matt Charest (Somerset, MA) in top flight singles match.  Malosse won the last two sets, 6-4 and 6-4.  Eisath posted a straight set win at number three singles, 6-4, 6-4.

BSC's singles victories came from freshman Duncan Yarworth (Wrentham, MA) at number two, sophomore Justin Lipomi (Lowell, MA) at the fourth flight, freshman Mike Zagame (Uxbridge, MA) at number five and sophomore David Campbell (Vineyard Haven, MA) at the sixth flight.

The Bears travel to the University of Southern Maine on Tuesday for a four o'clock Little East match with the Huskies.  Salem hosts conference rival UMass Boston on Tuesday at 3:30.
