BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore Drew Lawrence has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Swimmer of the Week.

Lawrence captured top honors in the 50 backstroke with a time of 28.20 seconds as the Bears closed out the dual meet portion of the schedule this past weekend with a decisive 168-59 victory over Little East foe Plymouth State University. The Winchendon, Massachusetts native also recorded a split of 24.21 seconds on the winning 200 freestyle relay squad which posted a time of 1:35.00.

The Little East Swimmer of the Week honor marks the first of Lawrence's career.

The BSU swimming and diving teams are off untill the Little East Conference Championships. The four-day meet will open with the three-meter diving competition on Thursday, February 13th at Babson College. The final three days of the championship meet will take place at the Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
