Aaron Fowler Named Little East Men's Swimmer & Rookie Swimmer of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third straight week, Bridgewater State University freshman Aaron Fowler has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Swimmer and Rookie Swimmer of the Week.

Fowler was the first to touch the wall in the 50 freestyle (21.14) in the Bears' 118-87 victory over Little East rival Eastern Connecticut State University. The Brookline, Massachusetts product also swam the butterfly leg (22.34) on the winning 200 medley relay (1:38.73) as well as the anchor leg (20.81) on the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:28.02) in the victory over the Warriors.

Fowler placed first in both the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke in the Bears' 145-93 victory over LEC foe Plymouth State University. Fowler posted a time of 50.99 seconds in the 100 fly and a collegiate-best time of 1:03.88 in the 100 breaststroke.

Fowler, who is currently tied for 14th in all of Division III in the 50 butterfly, has earned Little East Swimmer of the Week honors six times this season (10/17, 11/6, 12/4, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5) and LEC Rookie Swimmer of the Week accolades six times as well (10/30, 11/6, 12/4, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5).

The BSU swimming and diving teams are off untill the Little East Conference Championships. The four-day meet will open with the three-meter diving competition on Thursday, February 15th at Babson College. The final three days of the championship meet will take place at the Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
