Men's Swimming & Diving Posts 145-93 Senior Day Win Over Plymouth State

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team posted a 145-93 Senior Day victory over Little East Conference foe Plymouth State University on Saturday afternoon at the Moriarty Pool.

The Bears, who captured top honors in seven of the 13 events, wrapped up the dual meet portion of the scheduled with a 5-5 record.

Freshman Aaron Fowler (Brookline, Mass.) placed first in both the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke. Fowler posted a time of 50.99 seconds in the 100 fly and a collegiate-best time of 1:03.88 in the 100 breaststroke.

Senior Michael Losardo (Pittsfield, Mass.) won the 200 freestyle with a season-best time of 1:58.77 while sophomore Cooper Sever (Edgewater, Md.) recorded a season-best time of 28.87 seconds to win the 50 breaststroke.

Seniors Joseph Pervier (Baldwinville, Mass.) and Connor Young (Chelmsford, Mass.) added individual victories in the 50 freestyle (22.90) and 500 freestyle (5:11.74), respectively.

The relay squad featuring senior Brennan Gravanda (Wilbraham, Mass.), Losardo, senior Cooper Castellone (South Windsor, Conn.) and Young capped off the meet with a win in the 200 freestyle relay as the foursome notched a time of 1:33.19.

Prior to the start of the meet, the Bears honored the senior class of Losardo, Pervier, Young, Gravanda and Castellone.

The BSU swimming and diving teams are off untill the Little East Conference Championships. The four-day meet will open with the three-meter diving competition on Thursday, February 15th at Babson College. The final three days of the championship meet will take place at the Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
