BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman midfielder Nicholas Ribeiro has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week.

Ribeiro notched a goal and three assists for five points in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears. The Bellingham, Massachusetts native dished out a pair of assists, including on the game-winning goal, in a 6-0 MASCAC shutout victory over Westfield State, and tallied a goal and an assist in a 3-0 shutout win over UMass Dartmouth. 

Through 15 games this season, Ribeiro has notched five goals and seven assists for 17 points. He presently leads the MASCAC in assists and is tied for second in game-winning goals (3). Ribeiro is also fourth among the conference leaders in scoring and tied for sixth in goals.

Ribeiro also earned the MASCAC Rookie of the Week honor on October 2nd.

The BSU men's soccer team is currently 9-2-4 on the season and 5-0-1 in the MASCAC. The Bears travel to Rhode Island College tomorrow afternoon for a four o'clock game with the Anchormen.
