BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore forward Brett Ghelfi has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.

A native of Halifax, Massachusetts, Ghelfi scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in the Bears’ 2-0 MASCAC win over Fitchburg State University on Homecoming Saturday.

In 23 games over two seasons with the Bears, Ghelfi has recorded three goals and four assists for ten points.

Ghelfi is the Bears' first MASCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week since Kessy Alves earned the honor on November 5th of 2018.

The BSU men's soccer team is currently 2-6-1 on the season and 1-2 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain Salve Regina University on Wednesday night at seven o'clock.
