Kevin Roberts Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District® One Men's Soccer Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior forward Kevin Roberts has been selected to the 2020-2021 Academic All-District® One Division III Men's Soccer Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Roberts is just the third member of the Bridgewater State men's soccer program to earn the Academic All-District® honor since 2001 as he joins former teammate Kane Moran (2018) and Brian Krug (2002).

Of the 12 District One honorees, Roberts is one of two student-athletes from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) to be voted to the team. District One is comprised of Massachusetts and Maine. Joining Roberts on the Academic All-District® One squad from the MASCAC is fellow senior Benjamin Paine of Mass. Maritime Academy.

To be eligible for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or a key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early July.

A native of Medway, Massachusetts, Roberts just wrapped up his final semester as an undergraduate student at Bridgewater State with an overall grade point average of 3.65. He earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training and will attend the BSU graduation ceremony in late July at Gillette Stadium. Kevin was named to the Dean's List in each of his eight semesters at Bridgewater State and is also a four-time MASCAC Fall/Winter All-Academic Team selection.

In his first three seasons with the Bears, Roberts appeared in 57 games (56 starts) and tallied 14 goals (four game-winners) and ten assists for 38 points. He was an All-MASCAC Second Team selection in 2018 and helped the Bears capture the MASCAC title and advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament that same season.

Roberts is expected to return to the Bears' lineup this coming fall as a grad student. The 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
