BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman guard Dante Kikuba has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week.

A native of Framingham, Massachusetts, Kikuba averaged 20 points, five rebounds, 5.5 assists and two steals in two games for the Bears last week while shooting 55.2% (16-29) from the floor, 45.5% (5-11) from three-point range and 75% (3-4) at the free throw line.

Kikuba scored a career-high 30 points and added six rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 90-79 loss to #5 ranked Christopher Newport University. He also notched ten points, four rebounds, six assist and two steals in a 72-67 MASCAC setback to Worcester State University.

Through 16 games this season, all starts, Kikuba is averaging 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.8 steals, while shooting 43.6% (72-165) from the floor, 36.4% (20-55) from behind the arc and 70% (14-20) at the free throw line. He currently leads the MASCAC in assists and ranks third in steals and seventh in three-point shooting.

Kikuba also earned MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors back on November 28th and December 12th.

The BSU men's basketball team is presently 11-5 on the season and 1-2 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain conference rival Westfield State University on Wednesday evening at 5:30.
