Dimitri St. Louis Named MASCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University senior forward Dimitri St. Louis has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

A native of Brockton, Massachusetts, St. Louis averaged 22.5 points, 14 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 1.5 blocked shots while shooting 44% (17-39) from the floor and 80% (8-10) at the free throw line in a 2-0 week for the Bears.

St. Louis posted a double-double with a career-high 28 points and 14 rebounds (six offensive) to go along with an assist and three steals in an 81-72 MASCAC win on the road over Fitchburg State. He also recorded a double-double with 17 points and 14 boards (five offensive) as well as four steals and three blocks in a 75-56 conference victory over Framingham State.

In 17 games this season, St. Louis is averaging 17.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.9 blocked shots while shooting 47% (112-238) from the floor and 83% (52-63) at the charity stripe. He currently ranks second in the MASCAC in blocks, free throw shooting and double-doubles (12). He is also third in the conference in rebounding, sixth in scoring, eighth in steals and ninth in field goal percentage.

On a national level, St. Louis is tied for fifth in all of Division III in double-doubles. He is also eighth in offensive boards (4.1 rpg) and 25th in rebounding.

In 72 games over three seasons with the Bears, St. Louis has amassed 803 points, 378 rebounds and 73 assists in addition to 86 steals and 104 blocks.

The BSU men's basketball team is currently 6-11 on the season and 3-2 in MASCAC play. The Bears travel to conference rival Worcester State University on Wednesday night for a 7:30 game with the Lancers.
