Dimitri St. Louis Named MASCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior forward Dimitri St. Louis has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

St. Louis averaged 21.5 points, 14 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and two blocked shots while shooting 54.8% (17-31) from the floor and 87.5% (7-8) at the free throw line in two games for the Bears last week. The Brockton, Massachusetts product equaled his career-high with 27 points and pulled down a career-best 18 rebounds to go along with a pair of assists in a 76-71 setback to MIT. He also tallied 16 points, ten rebounds, an assist, three steals and four blocks in an 82-72 loss to Becker College.

In ten games this season, St. Louis is averaging 16.7 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.7 blocked shots whole shooting 47% (63-134) from the floor and 83.8% (31-37) at the charity stripe. He currently ranks second in the MASCAC blocks, fourth in both rebounding and free throw shooting, and seventh in scoring.

In 65 games over three seasons with the Bears, St. Louis has amassed 674 points, 294 rebounds and 65 assists as well as 72 steals and 88 blocks.

The BSU men's basketball team is currently 2-8 on the season. The Bears travel to Springfield College on Friday, January 3rd (1:00 PM) to take on the Pride in the semifinal round of the Naismith Classic.
