Three Bears Named to All-MASCAC Men’s Basketball Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior forwards Dimitri St. Louis (Brockton, Mass.) and Rayshon Ward (Fayetteville, N.C.) along with senior guard Ryan Carney (Easton, Mass.) have been voted by the league's seven head coaches to the 2019-2020 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball All-Conference Team.

St. Louis, who is making his first appearance on the All-MASCAC Team, garnered first team honors, while Carney and Ward were named to the All-MASCAC Second Team for the second and third straight seasons, respectively.

A native of Brockton, Massachusetts, St. Louis averaged 17.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.8 blocked shots in 25 games this season while shooting 45% (162-362) from the floor, 81% (78-96) at the free throw line and 31% (33-107) from three-point range. He currently ranks second in the MASCAC in both blocked shots and double-doubles (13), third in free throw percentage, fourth in rebounding and fifth in scoring.

In 80 games over three seasons at Bridgewater State, St. Louis registered 942 points, 431 rebounds, 79 assists, 96 steals and 116 blocks. He ends his career third all-time in program history in blocks.

Ward, who hails from Fayetteville, North Carolina, averaged 16.7 points, ten rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.6 blocked shots in 25 games this season while shooting 45% (151-334) from the floor, 79% (92-117) at the free throw line and 31% (33-107) from three-point range. He currently ranks third in the MASCAC in both rebounding and blocks as well as fourth in double-doubles (11).

In 106 games over four seasons in a BSU uniform, Ward amassed 1,377 points, 785 rebounds, 201 assists, 95 steals and 101 blocks. He is tied for third all-time in program history in games played and ranks fourth in blocked shots. Ward is also 14th on the Bears’ career scoring list.

Carney averaged 21.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and four assists in 24 games this season while shooting 46% (180-388) from the floor, 76% (98-129) at the free throw line and 41% (66-160) from three-point range. He currently ranks second in the MASCAC in both scoring and assists, third in made three-pointers and fifth in three-point shooting percentage.

In 104 games over four seasons at Bridgewater State, Carney recorded 1,551 points, 362 rebounds, 277 assists and 58 steals. The Easton, Massachusetts product ends his career as the Bears’ sixth all-time leading scorer. Carney is also fourth all-time in program history in made three-pointers with 184.

The BSU men's basketball team posted an overall record of 10-15 in 2019-2020 with a 7-5 conference mark. Seeded fourth in the MASCAC Tournament, the Bears dropped an 89-78 decision to fifth-seeded Salem State University in the tournament’s opening round.
