Admar Jaramillo Named MASCAC Men's Basketball Rookie of The Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third straight week and fourth time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman guard Admar Jaramillo has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.

Jaramillo averaged eleven points, 4.5 rebounds, five assists, 1.5 steals and one blocked shot in a 1-1 week for the Bears last week while shooting 50% (7-14) from the floor, 57% (4-7) from behind the arc and 80% (4-5) from the free throw line. The Brockton, Massachusetts native notched six points, six rebounds, seven assists and a steal in a 75-64 MASCAC win over MCLA. He also tallied 16 points, three boards, three assists, two steals and a pair of blocks in a 104-91 conference setback at Westfield State University.

In 18 games this season, Jaramillo is averaging 8.1 points, 2.9 assists and two steals in 20.9 minutes per game while shooting 80% (32-40) at the free throw line. He ranks fourth in the MASCAC in steals and fifth in assists.

The BSU men's basketball team is currently 6-14 on season and 4-4 in the MASCAC. Conference play continues for the Bears on Wednesday evening at 5:30 as they travel to Salem State University to take on the Vikings.
