Admar Jaramillo Named MASCAC Men's Basketball Rookie of The Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman guard Admar Jaramillo has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.

Jaramillo averaged 8.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, four assists, and 2.5 steals in a pair of games for the Bears last week. The Brockton, Massachusetts native notched 12 points, four boards, three assists and three steals in a 73-64 MASCAC loss to Framingham State University. He also tallied five points, five assists, a rebound and a pair of steals in a 98-81 conference setback to Salem State University.

In 14 games this season, Jaramillo is averaging 7.4 points, 2.5 assists and 1.9 steals in 18.9 minutes per game while shooting 81% (25-31) at the free throw line.

The BSU men's basketball team is currently 3-13 on season and 1-3 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain MASCAC rival Worcester State University on Tuesday evening at 5:30.
