BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College head men's basketball coach, Joe Farroba, garnered his 200th coaching victory on Saturday as the Bears defeated Tufts University, 96-70, at the Brandeis Tip-Off Tournament.

Farroba, now in his 16th season as the Bears' skipper, has a career coaching record of 200-195 as he is the all-time winningest coach in BSC men's basketball history. During his tenure the Bears have reached postseason play five times including NCAA Tournament appearances in 1999 and 2006.

Numerous school records have fallen with Coach Farroba at the helm.  He coached the Bears' all-time leading scorer, Mark Gonsalves, who produced 1,907 points from 1995 to 1997.  In fact 10 of the 23 1,000-point scorers in BSC men's basketball history, including current senior guard Tom Cuddihy (1,120 points), played under the guidance of Coach Farroba.

Coach Farroba will be honored prior to BSC's home-opener against Rhode Island College on Tuesday night at 8 PM.
