BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior defender Erin Power and sophomore forward Lexi James have been selected to the 2023 All-Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Field Hockey Team.
Power and James were voted to the All-MASCAC Second Team by the league's six head coaches.
A native of Byfield, Massachusetts, Power recorded a pair of defensive saves in 17 games this season and also scored her first collegiate goal. In 49 games (all starts) over three seasons of competition, Power notched seven defensive saves to go along with a goal and an assist.
James, who hails from Ipswich, Massachusetts, paced the BSU offense with a team-leading nine goals and four assists for 22 points in 16 games during the 2023 campaign. She tied for fourth in the MASCAC in goals, tied for sixth in scoring and tied for tenth in assists.
In 33 games over her first two seasons with the Bears, James has amassed 12 goals and five assists for 29 points.
The BSU field hockey team went 4-12-1 (1-9 MASCAC) in 2023. Seeded sixth in the inaugural MASCAC Tournament, the Bears dropped a tough 3-2 decision to #3 seed Framingham State University in the quarterfinal round.
