BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University field hockey team began preparations for the 2022 season as over 20 players reported to preseason camp on Thursday (Aug. 18) and hit the practice field for the first time on Friday morning.

First-year head coach Ashley Bishop's squad opens the 2022 campaign on Thursday, September 1st when the Bears travel to Nichols College for a seven o'clock game with the Bison. Bridgewater State then welcomes Simmons University to Swenson Field for the home opener on Wednesday, September 7th also at seven o'clock.

The Bears will open Little East Conference (LEC) play at home against Westfield State University on Saturday, September 17th at 3:00 PM.

The 2022 campaign marks the final season in the Little East for the Bears who will compete under the umbrella of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in 2023.
