11 Bears Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Eleven members of the Bridgewater State University field hockey team have been selected to the 2022 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad.

The NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach or institution.

Seniors Hannah Rolfe (Easton, Mass.) and Bailey Turner (Dedham, Mass.); juniors Zoe Bergeron (Blackstone, Mass.), Alexis Giesta (Hanson, Mass.), Carolyn Greendale (Natick, Mass.) and Charlotte McElroy (Carver, Mass.); sophomore Abby Massarelli (Stoughton, Mass.); and freshmen Noelle Cornetta (Hanson, Mass.), Madelyne Guidaboni (Hanson, Mass.), Irianny Solorin (Methuen, Mass.) and Emelia Westwater (Attleboro, Mass.) all garnered the honor for Bridgewater State.

All told, over 1,700 student-athletes from 157 Division III institutions earned recognition on the 2022 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. Johns Hopkins University and Middlebury College led all institutions with the most National Academic Squad selections, placing 24 student-athletes on the list.
