Brittany Cullinane Named to NFHCA All-New England West Region Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior forward Brittany Cullinane has been selected to the 2016 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-New England West Region Team.

Cullinane set career highs with 21 goals and 46 points in 17 games this season. The Lunenburg, Massachusetts product tied for the Little East Conference (LEC) lead with eight game-winning goals and ranked second in both goals and points.

On a national level, Cullinane ranked eighth in all of Division III in goals (1.24 gpg) and ninth in scoring (2.71 ppg).

Cullinane marked the Bears' first 20-goal scorer (and fourth overall) since former standout Shelby Farland potted a school-record 32 goals in 2012.

In 75 games over four seasons with the Bears, Cullinane amassed 38 goals (14 game-winners) and ten assists for 86 career points. She is fourth all-time at Bridgewater State in both goals and points.

The BSU field hockey team posted a record of 11-7 on the season with a 6-5 mark in the Little East. Seeded seventh in the LEC Tournament, the Bears knocked off #2 seed Worcester State, 3-1, in the quarterfinals before dropping a 3-0 decision to #6 Southern Maine in the semifinals.

Notes: Joining Cullinane on the NFHCA Division III All-New England West Region Team from the Little East are senior defender Marita Brothers and senior forward Sami Smith from Keene State College, senior forward Nicole Burgess from Plymouth State University and junior forward/midfielder Hayley Sutherland from Worcester State University.
