Allison Chappell Named Little East Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University sophomore Allison Chappell has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week.

A native of Raynham, Massachusetts, Chappell posted a 2-0 record with a 1.00 goals against average and a .846 save percentage in two games last week.

Chappell made nine saves as the seventh-seeded Bears stunned #2 seed Worcester State University, 3-1, in the opening round of the Little East Tournament. She also turned aside two shots earlier in the week in a 2-1 non-conference win over Wheaton College.

Through 17 games this season, Chappell has produced a win-loss record of 11-6 with 114 saves, a 2.30 goals against average and a .750 save percentage. She is tied for third in the Little East in wins and also tied for fifth in saves.

In 20 games over her first two seasons with the Bears, Chappell is 12-7 with 2 1/2 shutouts and a 2.18 goals against average. She also has 130 saves and a career .756 save percentage.

The BSU field hockey team is currently 11-6 on the season. The Bears travel to the University of Southern Maine on Wednesday afternoon for a 2:30 semifinal round game against the sixth-seeded Huskies.
