BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman kicker Joey Naso has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Special Teams Player of the Week.

Naso connected for a school-record ten extra points in the Bears’ 82-0 MASCAC victory over Fitchburg State University. The Hopewell Junction, New York native converted on 10 of 11 point after tries in the win. 

In two games this season, Naso is 14-for-16 (87.5%) in extra point attempts.

It marks the second straight week that the Bears have garnered MASCAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors as senior kicker/punter Shane Drake (Franklin, Mass.) earned the distinction on September 25th.

The BSU football team is currently 2-3 on the season and 2-1 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain conference foe Worcester State University on Saturday at noon.
