Stefano D'Emilia Named MASCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University senior quarterback Stefano D'Emilia has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week.

A native of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, D'Emilia was named the Lee Harrington Most Valuable Player of the 41st Annual Cranberry Bowl as he rallied the Bears from a 21-6 fourth quarter deficit to post a 26-21 victory over Mass. Maritime Academy on a cold and windy day in Buzzards Bay.

D'Emilia completed 20 of 38 pass attempts for 174 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 40 yards and two more scores. He accounted for all four BSU touchdowns and led the Bears on three fourth-quarter scoring drives to erase the 15-point deficit. D'Emilia scored on a pair of one-yard rushing touchdowns and connected on scoring strikes of 14 and ten yards. The ten-yard TD pass to junior wide receiver T.J. Hairston (Watertown, Mass.) capped off the dramatic comeback with just 22 seconds left to play in the fourth quarter.

In ten games this season, D'Emilia completed 175 of 291 pass attempts for 2,187 yards and 22 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 109 yards and seven touchdowns.

D'Emilia ranks second in the MASCAC in completion percentage (.601) and third in both touchdowns and completions. He is also fourth in the conference in passing yards and efficiency rating (139.97).

In 33 games over four seasons with the Bears, D'Emilia completed 490 of 879 pass attempts for 5,945 yards and 52 touchdowns to go along with nine rushing touchdowns. He ends his career as the Bears' all-time leader in completions, attempts and completion percentage (.557), and is second in passing touchdowns and fifth in efficiency rating (125.25).

The BSU football team wrapped up the 2019 campaign with an overall record of 6-4. The Bears tied for second in the MASCAC standings with a 6-2 conference mark.
