2010 D3football.com All-East Region Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore defensive tackle Paul Melicharek has been selected to the 2010 D3football.com All-East Region Second Team.

Melicharek, who hails from Glen Rock, New Jersey, recorded 45 tackles (41 solo), 11.5 tackles for loss and forced two fumbles this past season as he started all ten games for the Bears.  He led the team in both tackles for loss and forced fumbles and ranked third in tackles and solo stops.

The Bridgewater State football team finished the 2010 season with an overall record of 5-5 with a 3-4 mark in New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division play.

In 20 games over his first two seasons at Bridgewater, Melicharek has made 77 tackles (61 solo), including 16.5 for loss.  He also has three sacks to his credit and forced three fumbles.

This marks the second postseason honor for Melicharek who was also named to the NEFC All-Bogan Division First Team back in November.
