BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College senior wide receiver Chris Joyce has been selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his performance in the Bears' dramatic 38-31 Cranberry Bowl victory over Mass. Maritime Academy on Sunday.

A native of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Joyce set career highs with 10 receptions for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win over the Buccaneers.  The Bears have now won the prestigious "Scoop" 11 straight years and 18 of the last 19.

With the score tied at 31-31, Joyce hauled in an 8-yard touchdown pass with nine seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to pull off the dramatic win.  He also caught an 8-yard TD pass midway though the second quarter which at the time tied the score at 14-14.

On the season Joyce has 53 receptions for 602 yards and 7 touchdowns.  The 53 receptions are the second highest single-season total in BSC football history.  Joyce is currently ranked third in the New England Football Conference in receptions, fifth overall in receiving yards and tied for fourth in touchdown catches.

Bridgewater State wrapped up the regular season with a record of 6-3. The Bears, who finished second in the NEFC Bogan Division, will now await word on a possible ECAC Bowl selection.  Selections will be announced on Monday, November 12th with the games to be played on Saturday, November 17th.
