BOLTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University equestrian team wrapped up their fall season at Century Mill Stables on Sunday. The show was hosted by Brandeis University.
Sophomore captain Abigail Abbott (Wareham, MA) opened the day in intermediate fences on Felix, a 16.3hh grey Warmblood gelding and finished in third. Abbott then had a beautiful ride on Lambo, a 16hh Warmblood gelding. The ride earned her the blue ribbon and qualified her for regionals.
Junior captain Emily Desmond (Braintree, MA) took the reins of Luna, a 16.2hh grey Warmblood mare, in intermediate flat and finished fourth. Desmond then hopped on Bing, a 16hh bay Warmblood gelding, for the limit fences division and finished in fifth.
Senior Hannah Arsenault (Attleboro, MA) guided Rip, a 14.1hh buckskin gelding, in limit flat and came home in sixth.
Sophomore Alyson McKeon (Worcester, MA) also rode Luna in limit flat and finished fourth.
Freshman Melanie Schick-Fernandez (Abington, MA) also hopped on Bing for her limit flat class and finished in fourth.
Freshman Becky Costa (Foxborough, MA) took Tic Tac, a 14.1hh Appaloosa gelding, around in the novice division and finished sixth.
Junior Maeve Murray (Marshfield, MA) had a great ride on Rip and came home in fifth.
Senior Lexi Silva (Halifax, MA) wrapped up the day in the introductory division. Silva had a wonderful ride on Fax, a 15hh chestnut paint gelding, and grabbed the fourth place ribbon.
The Bears will return to the show ring in March for their spring season.
