HANOVER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University equestrian team competed on Saturday at the IHSA Zone 1, Region 4 Championships held at the Holly Hill Show Stables in Hanover, Massachusetts.

Junior Ashley Crosby (Littleton, Mass.) rode Peanut, a 17 hand grey gelding, to a first-place performance in her intermediate fences class as she advanced to Zone Championships.

Crosby, who placed fourth overall as high point rider, will compete at the IHSA Zone 1 Championships on Saturday April 9th at the Mount Holyoke College Equestrian Center in South Hadley, Massachusetts.

Senior Abby Lucas (Pembroke, Mass.) capped off her BSU career with a fifth place showing in novice on Elian.

Junior captain Jenna Root (Rutland, Mass.) placed third in her novice flat class while riding Dede, a chestnut pony. Root then switched over to Joleen, a paint horse, to break a tie.

The BSU equestrian team officially finished in seventh place in Region 4 for the 2021-2022 season.
