Jonathan O'Donnell joined the Bridgewater State baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2024.
A 2022 graduate of BSU where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science, Jonathan played three seasons for the Bears' baseball team from 2020 to 2022. He helped the squad capture both the MASCAC regular season and tournament titles in 2022 and advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament. A MASCAC All-Academic Team selection, Jonathan batted .300 (24-80) with a home run, five doubles and 20 RBI during his senior campaign of 2022. He also walked ten times, was hit by pitch on nine occasions and posted a .430 on base percenatage.
Jonathan transferred to Bridgewater State from Massasoit Community College where he played two seasons on the Warriorss baseball team in 2018 and 2019. He served as a team captain and was an honorable mention All-American in 2019.
In 95 career games between both schools, Jonathan posted a career batting average of .301 with 87 hits, 79 RBI, and seven home runs.
Prior to joining the Bears' baseball staff, Jonathan was the Associate Head Baseball Coach at Massasoit for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
A native and resident of Hull, Massachusetts, Jonathan works as a rehab technician At ATI Physical Therapy in Norwell. He played hockey and baseball at Hull High School where he was a South Shore League All-Star and Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic in both sports.
