VERO BEACH, Fla. – The Bridgewater State University baseball team dropped a 15-10 decision to St. Mary's College (Md.) on Wednesday at the Vero Beach Sports Complex.

Bridgewater (3-3) banged out 19 hits in the loss as Matt Barsaleau (Holland, Mass.) and Jake Scott (Somerset, Mass.) paced the Bears with three hits apiece.  Barsaleau went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, while Scott finished 3-for-4 with a double, two runs, an RBI and a stolen base.

Sean Riley (Fairhaven, Mass.), David Pierce (East Bridgewater, Mass.), John Garabedian (Mansfield, Mass.), Tory Buck (Shelburne Falls, Mass.), Trevor Lawson (Easton, Mass.) and Nicholas White (Bellingham, Mass.) added two hits apiece for the Bears.

The Bears trailed 7-4 after three innings before rallying for three runs in the bottom of the fourth and one in the sixth to take an 8-7 lead.  Scott double and scored in the fourth and singled and scored the go ahead run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth.

St. Mary's (6-9), however, answered with a four-run seventh to reclaim the lead.  Barsaleau belted his two-run blast in the bottom half of the inning to pull the Bears to within one at 11-10, but the Seahawks added four more runs in the ninth on a two-run double by Corey Napier and a two-run homer by Stefano Muscatelli to come away with the victory.

Napier finished 4-for-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles, two runs and three RBI to lead the Seahawks' 19-hit attack.  Paul Roemer went 3-for-6 with a run and an RBI, while Alex Lenovitz was 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs and three RBI.

Both teams are back in action tomorrow against Norwich University.  The Seahawks take on the Cadets at 10:00 AM, while the Bears and the Cadets meet at 1:00 PM.
