Baseball Knocks Off 16th Ranked Curry, 9-2

MILTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College baseball team knocked off 16th ranked Curry College, 9-2, on Friday afternoon in Milton, Mass.

Bridgewater (20-13) scored the first eight runs of the game and coasted to the victory.

Freshman Jim Balboni (Townsend, MA) earned the win on the mound for the Bears.  Balboni (2-0) went six innings giving up two runs on four hits with five walks and three strikeouts. 

Junior Ben Altman (East Taunton, MA) recorded his first save of the season in an outstanding relief appearance. Altman hurled three shutout innings allowing just one walk and striking out five.

Senior David Kiloski (Lowell, MA) paced BSC's 14-hit attack as he went 3-for-4 woith a double and two runs batted in.

Senior Brad Koneski (North Dighton, MA) went 2-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases, three runs scored and two RBI.  Koneski is a perfect 16-for-16 in stolen base attempts on the season.

Seniors Kelly LaDow (East Falmouth, MA) and J.T. Mooney (North Attleboro, MA) and freshman David Dole (West Bridgewater, MA) also had multiple hits for the Bears.  LaDow finished 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, two runs and two RBI, while Mooney was 2-for-5 with a stolen base, a run scored and two runs batted in.  Dole went 2-for-5 at the plate as well.

LaDow got the Bears on the board in the top of the first with a two-run double and would later come around to score on Kiloski's RBI double.

Koneski singled in a run in the second inning and added an RBI double in a three-run fourth inning.  Mooney also singled in two runs in the fourth.
