Driscoll-Gomez, Sheehan, Langton, Peterson Named to SAAC E-Board

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Four Bridgewater State University student-athletes will represent the Department of Athletics & Recreation as members of its 2021-2022 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Executive Board.

Shawn Driscoll-Gomez (men’s cross country/men’s track & field) has been selected as the SAAC President for the upcoming year. Olivia Sheehan (field hockey) will serve as the vice president, while Delaney Langton (women's soccer/women’s lacrosse) was named secretary and Abbi Peterson (women’s track & field) was tapped as the public relations coordinator.

The mission of the Bridgewater State University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to increase communication and cooperation between student-athletes and administration as well as to enhance and support the welfare of our athletes and their endeavors. We also strive to create and foster a positive, respectful student-athlete image in our community.

A native of Medford, Massachusetts, Driscoll-Gomez is a junior biology major who competes on the men’s cross country and men’s indoor and outdoor track & field teams. Sheehan, who hails from Hanson, Massachusetts, is a sophomore member of the field hockey squad majoring in elementary education. Langton is a junior elementary education major from Scituate, Rhode Island. She plays on both the women’s soccer and women’s lacrosse teams. Peterson, a resident of Watertown, Massachusetts, is majoring in communication studies and is a sophomore on the women’s indoor and outdoor track & field teams.
