Fifteen Bears Named to Little East Fall All-Academic Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Fifteen Bridgewater State University student-athletes have been named to the 2022 Little East Conference (LEC) Fall All-Academic Team which was announced today.

The 15 BSU student-athletes include eight field hockey players and seven representatives from the women's tennis team.

To earn a spot on the LEC Fall All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least in sophomore standing in the classroom, have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester, and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year.

Receiving the honor as members of the field hockey team are seniors Sophia Morse (West Bridgewater, Mass.), Jordyn Perry (Nantucket, Mass.), Hannah Rolfe (Easton, Mass.) and Bailey Turner (Dedham, Mass.); juniors Zoe Bergeron (Blackstone, Mass.), Charlotte McElroy (Carver, Mass.) and Alexis Giesta (Fall River, Mass.); and sophomore Noelle Cornetta (Hanover, Mass.). Representing the women’s tennis team are senior Mackenzie Silveira (Middletown, R.I.); juniors Allison Carter (Raynham, Mass.), Erin Lally (Danvers, Mass.) and Abigail Ramer (Sherwood, Ore.); and sophomores Rebecca Hamel (Windham, Maine), Meghan Lotti (Stoneham, Mass.) and Madeline Von Ruden (Ashley Falls, Mass.)

The Little East Conference began honoring an all-academic team during the 2007-08 academic year. While the majority of Bridgewater State varsity squads are members of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), five BSU teams call the Little East home. Field hockey and women’s tennis compete in the Little East in the fall, men's and women's swimming & diving in the winter, and men’s tennis in the spring.
