18 Bears Named to Little East Fall Academic Honor Roll

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Eighteen Bridgewater State University student-athletes have been named to the Little East Conference (LEC) Academic Honor Roll for the fall 2019 semester.

The 18 BSU student-athletes include 11 field hockey players and seven representatives from the women's tennis team.

To be named the LEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a semester GPA of 3.00 or better and have been an active member of the team at the conclusion of their fall semester season.

Receiving the honor as members of the field hockey team are senior Jacquelyn Legendre (Westport, Mass.); juniors Olivia Ahlman (Halifax, Mass.) and Meghan Welch (Hubbardston, Mass.); sophomores Victoria Camara (Westport, Mass.), Aidan Ryan (Uxbridge, Mass.), Megan Sharon (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and Katie Swart (Bridgewater, Mass.); and freshmen Deirdre Duarte (Fall River, Mass.), Haley Nickerson (Carver, Mass.), Emma Schoonover (Somerset, Mass.) and Olivia Sheehan (Hanson, Mass.).

Representing the women’s tennis team are graduate student Rachel Tarantino (Mansfield, Mass.); senior Angelique Gray (Barnstable, Mass.); juniors Jessica Gaudreau (Hanson, Mass.), Michaela Loring (New Marlborough, Mass.) and Olivia Sweeney (Taunton, Mass.); sophomore Vanessa Rosa (Taunton, Mass.); and freshman Sailor Nordstrom (New Bedford, Mass.).

The Academic Honor Roll is one of two new academic recognition programs being introduced by the Little East this year. The LEC Team Academic Awards will debut following the conclusion of the academic year.
