Ginny Walsh was a four-year star of the BSC women's softball team at the shortstop position from 1976- 79 and named the "Best All-Around Player" her senior year. Following her graduation at Bridgewater she went on to play for the professional softball teams Connecticut Falcons (1979) and the Raybestos Brakettes (1981-82). With the Brakettes, she was named a first team All American. In 1991 she was selected to the New England Softball Hall of Fameand is also a member of the USSSA Hall of Fame.

In 1994, Ginny tried out and was a final cut of the recently organized professional women's baseball team, the Colorado Silver Bullets. Ginny was the head softball coach at Ashland High School from 1997 to 2003 and guided the team to a state title in 1998. She also served as the head softball coach at Natick High School.
