Mark J. Gonsalves

Mark J. Gonsalves played forward on the Bridgewater State men's basketball team from 1995-1999. As a senior during the 1998-99 season, Mark captained a squad which went on to play in the NCAA Championship Tournament. Bridgewater advanced to postseason play in each of his four seasons on the team as the Bears also made three ECAC Tournament appearances. During Mark's four-year tenure at Bridgewater, the team posted a record of 71-39 (.645). As the Bears' all-time leading scorer with 1,907 points, Mark averaged 17.7 points per game and 6.7 rebounds during his distinguished career. His most prolific season came during the Bears' march to the NCAA Tournament in 1998-99 as he averaged 20.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Mark, who was a three-time All-MASCAC selection as well as First Team All-New England selection in 1998, is also Bridgewater's all-time leader in field goals made with 718. He graduate in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. Mark is currently employed as a social worker for the Department of Social Services in Brockton. He presently resides in his hometown of East Freetown.
