Bridgewater, MA –
The Bears (1-2, Colonial Coast Rugby Conference, CCRC) hosted Endicott College (1-2, CCRC) at Swenson field on Sunday afternoon. The Bears jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, touching down for a try just five minutes into the game. Endicott would respond a few minutes later and take the lead with a try and conversion making it 7-5. Bridgewater would score 14 unanswered points and lead 19-7 heading into halftime.
Endicott would climb back in the second half, putting up 25 points in the final 40 minutes of play. The back and forth affair brought the score to 33-32 in the final minute of play. The Gulls scored on a try in the 79th minute, but would miss the ensuing conversion and the Bears would hold on to win the game by one point!
The Bears will look to secure a playoff spot on Sunday, October 13th, when they host Western New England University (1-2) for an 11am kickoff at Swenson Athletic Complex.
