Bridgewater State SwimAmerica Pre-School Lessons (P1 & P2)

 

This BSU SwimAmerica Pre-School Program is for children ages three to five years of age who have NOT completed Kindergarten.  Parents may join their children in the water for support and encouragement under the direction of one of our "SwimAmerica" coaches or they can go it alone if they are ready.

Each class will have no more than five students.  For a class to run there must be at least two students. Each Class will have there own instructor.

 Any children who are not potty-trained must wear an approved swim diaper with a containing rubber pant cover (no exceptions). Classes are 20 minutes long with 10 minutes of play time.

#P1: Bubbles
(For beginning swimmers age 3-5)

-Wall Position
-Front and Back Float
-Straight Leg Kicking
-Submerge and Blow Bubble

Adjustment to Water & Coach
Blowing Bubbles
Roll and Float
#P2: Floats & Glides
(For swimmers age 3-5 mastering Preschool Level 1)
-Treading Water
-Use a PFD
-Side-Glide-Kick
-Streamlining

Front and Back Torpedo
Front Float w/Push From Wall
Back Float w/Push From Wall
Roll and Float

*After the student graduates from P2, they move to SwimAmerica Level 1*
