Women's Cross Country Places 2nd at MASCAC Championships

DEVENS, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team placed second at the 2021 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Cross Country Championships held on Saturday at Willard Park/Devens Recreation Complex in Devens, Mass.

BSU junior Julie Glavin (Weymouth, Mass.) garnered All-MASCAC honors as she placed second overall at the meet. Glavin covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 20:20.5.

Junior Maura Bruns (Franklin, Mass.) and sophomore Ashley Schepis (Norton, Mass.) also earned All-MASCAC accolades for the Bears. Burns placed seventh with a time of 20:56.2, while Schepis finished ninth (21:14.0). 

Westfield State University (37 pts.) captured the team title as the Lancers edged the runner-up Bears (52 pts.).

Senior Amy O'Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) of Westfield State won the individual title with a time of 18:45.80.

Following a week off, the BSU cross country teams will compete at the New England Division III Championships hosted by Suffolk University on Saturday, November 13th.
