BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For an impressive fourth time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Jenise Madden has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Madden was the Bears' top runner at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University this past weekend at Stanley Park. The Milford, Massachusetts product covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 23:14.83 as she finished 22nd out of a field of 459 harriers.

As a squad, Bridgewater State placed 16th out of 41 team entries at the meet.

On Saturday, the BSU cross country teams will compete at the Conn. College Invitational held at Harkness State Park in Waterford, Connecticut.
