BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week and third time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Jenise Madden has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Madden was the Bears' top runner at the 48th Annual Codfish Bowl held at Franklin Park in Dorchester this past weekend. The Milford, Massachusetts native covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 20:02 as she finished 19th out of a field of 204 harriers.

As a squad, Bridgewater State placed ninth out of 17 team entries at the meet.

After a week off, the Bears will compete at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University on Saturday, October 8th.
