Brittany Reed Named MASCAC Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Brittany Reed has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Reed helped the BSU women’s cross country team earn a second place finish at the Tri-State Invitational in Lincoln, Rhode Island over the weekend.  The Plymouth, Massachusetts native completed the five-kilometer course with a time of 22:09.13 to finish 13th out of a field of 62 runners.

Previously during the 2013 campaign, Reed posted a season-best time of 21:53 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on September 21st.  She also finished ninth with a time of 22:21 at a tri-meet hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University on September 14th.

The cross country schedule resumes for Reed and her teammates this Saturday as the Bears will compete at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University.
