Rouillard Captures Roger Williams Invitational Title

BRIDGEWATER, Mass.-- Senior Molly Rouillard (Dartmouth, Mass.) won the individual title to lead the Bridgewater State University women's cross country team at the Roger Williams University Inviatational on Saturday.

Rouillard, who competed at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past spring, posted a meet-best time of 18:57 over the 5k course as she easily outdistanced the second place finisher by 47 seconds.

Freshman Danielle Poto (North Andover, Mass.) also finished in the top ten for the Bears as she placed ninth with a time of 21:16.

Next across the line for the Bears was freshman Samantha Pinkham (Hingham, Mass.) in 18th place with a time of 22:00.

Bridgewater placed fourth in the team standings.  Connecticut College captured the team title followed by host Roger Williams University in second place and Wheaton College in third.

BRISTOL, R.I -- The Bridgewater State University men's cross country squad captured the team championship at the Roger Williams Invitational on Saturday.

The Bears posted four of the top five best times at the race with Junior Andy Sukeforth (Middleboro, Mass.) leading the way as he placed second at the meet. Sukeforth completed the 5k course in a time of 16:48.

Senior Stephen Wahome (Lowell, Mass.) placed third with a time of . He was followed by sophomore Dallas O'Brien (Mansfield, Mass.) in fourth (16:57) and senior David Phipps (Attleboro, Mass.) in fifth (16:57).

Freshman Mark Waller (Andover, Mass.) also finished in the top twenty for the Bears as he placed 20th with a time of 18:06.

In upcoming action, the Bears will run in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational next Saturday at 10:30 AM.
